Encounter 37 – Deaf Mute Man

Mark 7:32-37

And again, coming out from the region of Tyre, Jesus came through Sidon beside the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Decapolis. And going up into the mountain, He sat there. And they brought to Him a deaf mute who spoke with difficulty, and they entreated Him, that He would place His hand on him.

And taking him from the crowd by himself, He put His fingers into his ears, and after spitting, He touched his tongue.

And looking up to Heaven, He groaned and said to him, “Ephatha!” that is, “Be opened!” And [immediately]T his ears were opened, and the restraint of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke correctly.

And He cautioned them that they should tell no one. Yet as much as He cautioned them, so much more they proclaimed it exceedingly.

And they were utterly astonished, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.”

And there came to Him great crowds, having with them lame, blind, maimed, dumb, and many different ones, and they cast them beside the feet of Jesus, and He healed them, so that the crowds wondered, seeing the dumb speaking, maimed whole, lame walking, and blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
