Encounter 47 – Blind/Mute Demoniac

Matthew 12:22-30, Mark 3:20-27, Luke 11:14-23

And He came into a house. And a multitude came together again, so that they were not even able to eat bread. And hearing this, His friends went out to lay hold of Him, for they said that He was beside Himself.

Then a blind and dumb demoniac was brought to Him, and He healed him, and He was casting out (the) dumb demon. So it came about that when the demon had gone out, the dumb man spoke and saw. And all the crowds were amazed, and said, “This Man cannot be the Son of David, can He?”

But when the Pharisees and the scribes who came down from Jerusalem heard it, some of them said, “He is possessed by Beelzebub,” and, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

And others were tempting Him, asking from Him a sign from Heaven.

And knowing their thoughts, He called them to Himself, and began speaking to them in parables, and He said to them, “How can Satan cast out Satan? And any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste. That kingdom cannot stand. And if any city or house is divided against itself, that house will not stand. (It) falls. And if Satan casts out Satan, (he) has risen up against himself, and also he is divided against himself. How will his kingdom stand? He cannot stand, but he is finished, for you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebub.

But if I cast out the demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Because of this, they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons by the finger (of the) Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

When the strong man is armed, he keeps his home, and his possessions are at peace. But no one can go into the house of the strong man to plunder his goods, if first he does not bind the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

But when one stronger than he comes upon him and overpowers him, he takes away all of his armor from him, on which he relied, and distributes his plunder.

He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who is not gathering with Me, scatters.”
