When I got to the next encounter for Simon the Leper/Pharisee, I had to rethink some things. I know that I had already mentioned Simon in my encounter with Mary Magdalene/Bethany – but hadn’t thought about why I had Simon way up at #53 when Mary M was at #42. Today I made it to #53 and had to think about it.
Now Mary M and Simon the Leper are in the same encounter. While Lazarus is also mentioned in the scriptures for this encounter, I still felt Lazarus should have his own since his was already a 3 part encounter.
I wanted to keep my list at 66 encounters since there are 66 books in the Bible, but then also remembered that other Bibles throughout the world have more or less books in their cannon. 66 is not set in stone, and only God knows exactly how many books there are. To be honest, I sometimes think that the first book of Enoch should at least be in our Bibles, but that’s a topic for a different discussion. I’m just thankful that our salvation does not depend on the size of our canon.
